The Guardian has more reminders of Bush Administration demagoguery:

• God wanted him to run for president
  
• God speaks through him
  
• God directs our policies in the Middle East
  
• Our nation's enemies will be destroyed in a great crusade
  
• American liberty is God's gift to humanity
• The war against terror is a war against Satan
• God put Bush in the White House, since the American people certainly didn't.*
